Barnier proposes delay to Omnibus II vote

Commissioner proposes waiting for results of impact study on long-term guarantees in March 2013

Michel Barnier, the European commissioner for internal market regulations, has proposed that current negotiations on Omnibus II could be delayed until March 2013.

Barnier is understood to have suggested that the negotiations could be put on hold until the completion of an impact study on insurance products with long-term guarantees, which is anticipated to be ready in March 2013.
