Ex-CFTC enforcement head: Dodd-Frank anti-manipulation standard unclear
Anti-manipulation proposal could be challenged if made law; former CFTC enforcement director calls for clear standard based on precedent
More clarity is needed from the US regulator on standards to identify derivatives market manipulation under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, according to Gregory Mocek, former director of enforcement at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from March 2002 to July 2008.
Mocek, who is now head of law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft’s energy and commodities enforcement team, was speaking at a Commodity Markets Symposium on derivatives reform in Washington
