Standard and Poor's (S&P) has created a world commodity index comprising futures contracts that trade on global exchanges outside the US.

The demand for commodity exposure with a focus on regions outside the US has been far-reaching, according to S&P. "Demand has been pretty widespread among investors who want commodity exposure.
