The improved performance of the Optima Short Fund over the last two years may be evidence of a short-friendly market situation.
The short-only fund showed an annual net performance of 27.2% in 2000, 6.8% in 2001 and 7.7% year to date. That comes off the back of net performance of -10.2% in 1999 and -9.4% in 1998. Year to date the fund is up 7.7% compared to the three-year net annualised performance of 10%.
