Natixis buyout cost BPCE 70bp of CET1 ratio in Q2

Cash cost of offer for main subsidiary offset partly by increase in shareholder equity

Groupe BPCE took a 70-basis point hit to its Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio in the second quarter as it bought out minority shareholders in Natixis, taking full control of its flagship subsidiary.

The French group earlier this year launched a bid for the 29.7% of publicly-traded Natixis it did not already own. After a voluntary tender and a mandatory squeeze-out of remaining investors, the group closed the buyout on July 21.
