Asian and Americas CCPs seek EU recognition

Central counterparties (CCPs) in the Americas and southeast Asia dominate the latest public list of entities awaiting recognition to undertake clearing activities in the European Union.

On June 19, the European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma) published an updated list of so-called third-country CCPs, those domiciled outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), which have applied for recognition under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (Emir).

Featured on the list are 16 CCPs
