Cantor to offer equity swap hedges to prime brokers
Provider to enter race with Capitolis and Nearwater as it preps early 2023 launch for ABCP service
Cantor Fitzgerald is preparing to launch a new asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP) service that would provide equity total return swaps (TRSs) to banks seeking hedges for their synthetic equity financing activities.
The programme, which is scheduled for launch in early 2023, would see banks enter into equity TRSs with a special-purpose vehicle (SPV), Institutional Secured Funding (ISF). These swaps would be backed by a basket of equities held by the SPV and funded by short-term debt
