Senior risk managers seek more influence with business lines and top management

Chief risk officers (CROs) need to worry less about the intricacies of modelling and more about how to influence business lines and senior management, delegates at the Risk Middle East conference in Bahrain were told yesterday. The remarks were made by some of the region's top CROs during a session on risk management challenges.

"CROs need to be able to communicate, to influence people - it's not about building models," said Luciano de Jesus, head of risk at NCB Capital in Saudi Arabia.
