SunGard to help Irish companies comply with Basel II
SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, an operating group of US technology company SunGard, has teamed up with Dublin–based software services consulting company Client Solutions to help banks and non-financial institutions across Ireland meet regulatory and reporting demands, including Basel II and IAS 39.
The BancWare suite includes applications for fair value accounting, regulatory reporting interpretation and specific implementation issues with regard to IAS 39 compliance. It also offers a Basel II module that provides instrument coverage for balance sheet items, standardised and internal ratings-based approaches, and coverage of all three pillars of the Basel II Accord, including treatment of off-balance sheet items.
Terence Faherty, president of the BancWare operating unit, said: “Institutions recognise that the technology prerequisites to meeting Basel II and IAS 39 requirements include robust data management and systems integration.”RiskNews.net
