HSBC’s model risk chief departs

Exit follows February reshuffle of UK lender’s global risk analytics unit

HSBC’s head of model risk management, Manoj Bhaskar, has left the bank, Risk.net has learned, to take up a senior risk role at Standard Chartered.

Bhaskar headed the UK banking giant’s global risk analytics unit from its creation in 2015 up until February this year, when the team was reshuffled and leadership handed over to Ray O’Brien, the bank’s chief operating officer for global risk.

At the time of the reshuffle, the bank’s chief risk officer, Marc Moses, said the shake-up was needed
