Citi will name Peter Jaeger to head its Asia-Pacific futures, collateral and clearing business, usurping Conor Cunningham as part of a strategic shake-up at the US bank.

In a move that surprised the market, Citi has parted ways with its current head of Asia over-the-counter clearing.

Tokyo-based Jaeger, a Japanese speaker, was head of Asia-Pacific futures, options and OTC clearing at Bank of America Merrill Lynch until June. Before BAML he had a 15-year career at JP Morgan in fixed income
