Transamerica Reinsurance hires new risk officer

Transamerica Reinsurance has appointed Larry Moews as its chief actuary and chief risk officer. Based in the company's headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, Moews reports to chief financial officer Joe Gilmour.

Moews joins Transamerica Reinsurance from Allstate, where he was corporate chief risk officer. He replaces Darin Zimmerman, who recently accepted the role of chief actuary and chief risk officer for affiliate company Transamerica Capital Management.
