Stoxx appoints Manrique as CEO

Index provider Stoxx has appointed Ricardo Manrique as chief executive officer. Manrique, who will be based in Zürich, will report to the Stoxx supervisory board, which is composed of one representative of each of the joint venture partners. The board comprises Holger Wohlenberg, managing director Market Data and Analytics at Deutsche Boerse, Michael Petronella, president at Dow Jones Indexes and Werner Bürki, member of the management committee of Six Swiss Exchange.

Manrique was previously responsible for Latin American derivatives sales & structuring at Standard Bank. Prior to joining the South African bank, he spent ten years in various derivatives and indexing positions at investment banks such as JP Morgan. He also was responsible for index operations and product development at Stoxx and holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Rutgers University and a master of business administration from Columbia Business School.
