Arnold quits BarCap

Mark Arnold has stepped down as chief financial officer of Barclays Capital with a view to taking a one-year break from the industry. Despite initial press reports that Arnold would return to the bank in early 2004, a Barclays Capital spokesperson says Arnold has left the company without being granted an official sabbatical. Patrick Clackson, global head of product control, has taken over his duties.
