How are France’s largest asset managers responding to the growth of the credit markets in Europe? Hardeep Dhillon investigates.

Even the largest French investors are sometimes described as inward-looking in their approach to credit. If the company isn't domestic, the criticism goes, French fund managers usually aren’t interested. But even if some of that criticism is justified, attitudes in France are changing fast.

The country boasts some of the largest fixed-income investors in Europe, with a recent survey by eMaxx in January placing CDC IXIS Asset Management first when measured by amount of funds under management
