Cantor spins off voice brokerage business

Cantor Fitzgerald has announced that it will spin off its global voice brokerage business to form BGC Partners, which will provide brokerage services to wholesale fixed-income, interest rate, foreign exchange and derivatives markets worldwide. Moreover, it will give clients access to electronic trading and technology support from eSpeed, a developer of electronic marketplaces and trading technology.
Slated for October 1, the spin-off will be a private partnership with offices in London, New York
