Appointment at Standard Chartered

Norman Chan Tak-Lam, former deputy chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), has joined Standard Chartered in Hong Kong. Chan, who had left the HKMA earlier to pursue studies in the US, started work at Standard Chartered on December 1, and will be responsible for building the bank's business across Asia. Chan reports to Kai Nargolwala, the bank's group executive director. Chan had spent 12 years at the HKMA, having been appointed deputy director (money management) of the office
