BNP boosts Asia-Pacific fixed-income derivatives team

French bank BNP Paribas has made three new hires to its Asia-Pacific interest rate derivatives trading team in Singapore.

Woo Kang Yeong joins from JP Morgan Chase, where he worked for seven years, most recently as a principal Singapore dollar medium-term trader. He will head Singapore dollar interest rate swaps and government bond books trading at BNP.

Lee Teck Chong has also quit JP Morgan Chase, where he was a vice-president in the interest rate management group since 1997. At BNP, he will trade the Taiwanese dollar book.

Roy Chan Chu Heng joins from Standard Chartered, where he was a senior dealer in the global exotics group since 2000. He previously worked with JP Morgan Chase in the interest rate management group. He will manage the Thai baht interest rate swap book at BNP.

All three will report to Monty Agarwal, BNP’s head of interest rate derivatives trading for the Asia-Pacific.
