The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) can justifiably claim to have revolutionised the settlement of credit default swaps (CDS). Two years ago, the average number of days taken to confirm a CDS trade was 23, says Janet Wynn, head of business delivery for over-the-counter derivatives at the DTCC in New York. “Now, with our service, it’s a couple of days.”
