Shanghai exchange to list gold futures

The Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) is preparing to list gold futures, having released the contract details and given notice of the start of simulated trading in the contracts in mid-September. But no date has yet been announced for the launch of the contracts, and the contract's terms must still be ratified by the market watchdog, the China Securities Regulatory Commission.

The new contract size will be 300 grams, according to an SHFE announcement. Based on the current spot price of gold of 170
