Malaysian prime minister Abdullah Badawi plans to take Islamic finance in Malaysia beyond his country's borders. "We envisage that Malaysia could be a hub in the international Islamic financial world, linking economies and regions," he told delegates at Malaysia: Investment Destination, an event held in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the Islamic Development Bank's (IDB) arrival in Malaysia for its thirtieth annual meeting.
