Market snapshot: SG more than doubles UK issuance

There were 72 new products released in the UK structured products market in May, most of which were structured as kickouts. Putting capital at risk remains popular. Tim Mortimer reports

Societe Generale jumped up to second spot in the table of most prolific issuers of structured products in the UK in May, offering 11 new products and snagging a 15% market share. The French bank followed the regular most frequent issuer, Investec Structured Products, which released 21 new products. Investec's near 30% stake in the market for May is below its usual share. There were 11 product providers in all, with Meteor and Morgan Stanley each releasing nine products and claiming a 12.5%
