European securitisation soars in Q1

The issuance of securitisation across Europe reached EUR125.7 billion in the first quarter of 2007, more than double total issuance for the same period in 2006, accordnig to the European Securitisation Forum.

The figure for the fourth quarter last year was EUR169.7 billion, another record. The fourth quarter is the busiest time of the year for securitisation, according to the ESF.
