Milton Ezrati wonders how the Fed can combat hedge funds' unregulated use of derivatives

As the credit derivatives market has grown, so concern about this new and constantly evolving market has ballooned. Now with the equivalent of $8.4 trillion in credit derivatives outstanding, even Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan has issued his own, very official warning about the dangers surrounding this huge and largely unregulated market. With the chairman adding his concerns to those of others, it seems clear that some kind of new regulation will emerge in the US.
