The top ranks of emerging markets fund managers are usually dominated by the same suspects, with established players such as Pimco and GMO vying for the spotlight. But recently, a new contender has snuck into the crowd.
The RiverSource Emerging Markets Bond fund (RSMIX), just two years old and relatively small at $140 million, is now in the top 12% of performers, with a one-year return of 5.18%, according to Morningstar Research.
