Korean regulators have a busy May

Korea's financial regulators were kept busy in May with the implementation of revised banking acts relating to securities borrowing and commodities trading.

Changes came into effect in May after revised banking acts were introduced on March 20 permitting banks to borrow securities and enter into commodity derivative transactions with corporates for the purpose of risk management. These changes are largely grounded in the Korean Ministry of Finance and Economy's (Mofe) 'zero-base' financial
