Disney looks forward to improved credit profile

The Walt Disney Company, which suffered significant credit and spread deterioration after the September 11 terrorist attacks badly affected its tourism-reliant business, appears to be on the cusp of strengthening its weakened credit profile.

As recently as October 2001, Disney’s corporate credit rating from Standard & Poor’s stood at A. Subsequently the company was downgraded to BBB+, but early last December, S&P affirmed Disney’s BBB+ rating and removed the company from
