9/11 lawsuit will not hit insurers’ ratings—S&P

As lawyers for Larry Silverstein Properties present their case against the insurance companies in the aftermath of September 11, the likelihood of insurers’ credit ratings suffering in light of a verdict for the plaintiff is slim. In a recent press release, Steven Dreyer, managing director of Standard & Poor’s Insurance Ratings Services, stressed the nominal impact of the trial, if any, on future credit ratings of insurance companies.
