Dealers anxiously await position limits
Dealers are anxiously awaiting an announcement by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) about a new position limit regime for energy derivatives markets, which is expected by December 21.
“Obviously it could impact our ability to do business on behalf of our customers, including commodity end-users and index investors. So it’s a concern,” says one New York-based head of commodities at a major US dealer.
