Industry Officials Call On Congress To Reduce CFTC's Powers

WASHINGTON D.C.--Representatives from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) told a U.S. House subcommittee to strip the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) of all authority outside of its supervisory role of exchanges. The testimony given before the U.S. House Subcommittee on Risk Management and Specialty Crops will be noted when Congress considers reauthorization of the CFTC.
