RWE and E.ON team up for UK nuclear projects

German utilities RWE and E.ON have formed a joint-venture to develop new nuclear power stations in the UK.

The 50:50 cooperation between UK subsidiaries E.ON UK and RWE npower will look to secure sites being sold by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, and to build and operate new stations on them. The venture will aim to develop at least 6GW of capacity in the UK, according to a statement from the companies.
