Norway and Sweden have agreed on a joint green electricity certificates market from January 1, 2012.
The scheme promotes green energy by offering producers of electricity from renewable sources a green certificate for every MWh of electricity produced, which can then be sold.
Sweden had previously decided that the goal for the electricity certificates market should be set at a level of 25 TWh by 2020, compared to 2002 levels and Norway has agreed to make the same commitment.
