IEA remains steady on global oil demand for 2010


Paris-based IEA knocked global oil demand downwards for 2009 by 70,000 barrels per day (b/d), with oil demand now estimated at 84.9 million b/d for last year, after revisions to preliminary data from Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development North America, non‐OECD Asia and African countries were weaker than previously anticipated.

However, the IEA says global oil demand in 2010 will remain at 86.6 million b/d in 2010, stemming from higher‐than‐expected data from OECD North America
