The evolution of Intesa Sanpaolo’s credit portfolio management practice

Intesa Sanpaolo was recently named credit portfolio manager of the year at the Risk Awards 2022. The judges were impressed that the firm was able to continue to lend during the Covid-19 pandemic due to the work of its credit portfolio management team. Using securitisations and insurance, the team packaged loans and sold them to investors, while at the same time strengthening the quality of the loans by providing trade finance to borrowers.

In this podcast, Zoi Fletcher speaks to Elisabetta Bernardini and Biagio Giacalone about the new approaches Intesa Sanpaolo has developed to credit portfolio management.

3:03 – The most successful strategies the ACPS unit has used to share its approach with other business units within the group

5:48 – New approaches, data and tools Intesa Sanpaolo is using for its credit risk assessment process
