SCB increases derivatives sales in tough market conditions


Despite last year's coup in Thailand ending six months of government protests and political uncertainty, the country's foreign exchange markets have remained volatile and economic performance has been lacklustre.

The weak Thai baht, which has been under pressure from falling commodity prices, has made it costly to buy dollar products and significantly hit the revenues on traditional flow-products, according to Thanu Vajrabhaya, financial market sales officer at Siam Commercial Bank (SCB).
