As global wealth has returned to close to pre-2008 levels, private banking has seen a resurgence but regulatory burdens and shrinking margins have been challenging, according to a June 2013 report by PwC.

Against this backdrop Citi has excelled at identifying the right opportunities for its wealthy clients and has been successful at providing timely advice in a number of key areas, most notably to move out of fixed income and into equities, according to a number of clients Asia Risk spoke to.
