Structured products - European Awards 2007

Awards

The interviews and reviews for the third annual Structured Products awards for Europe will begin on September 24. Submissions for the categories must be delivered to the editorial team on or before Friday September 21.

The Structured Products awards have been created to recognise excellence and innovation in the manufacture and distribution of these derivatives-based investment products.

The awards have been broken down into three sections. Our structurer awards are open to the banks that manufacture structured products. These awards incorporate all major asset classes from equity derivatives to foreign exchange. This section includes one new award this year - for Structured Products House of the Year, Europe. This will be judged on the basis of a product structurer's innovation in Europe across all asset classes, acknowledging cross-border as well as domestic product creation. Your submissions should include a catalogue of your innovations in the cross-border market and in each national jurisdiction.

Further structurer awards recognise innovation in: equity derivatives, commodities credit, foreign exchange, hedge funds, interest rates, hybrids and structured funds.

Our distributor awards are open to companies that sell these products to investors, whether this is at the retail or high-net-worth level. There are no new categories in this section, and we have retained the Central and Eastern Europe award that we introduced last year.

Finally, specialist awards recognise innovations by companies dedicated to a particular core function within the following categories: index provider, technology provider, and exchange. In addition to these, we have added two new awards, in which we will recognise advances made by manufacturers in the creation and application of online trading platforms, and also the role of the independent valuation companies.

The awards will be announced in the November issue of Structured Products and presented at the Structured Products Europe conference at a dinner on the evening of November 13 in the Park Lane Sheraton, in Piccadilly, London.

Please note:

Awards meetings or telephone interviews should be limited to 30 minutes per category for which you are pitching, with a maximum time of two hours.

We have made the process more open this year by inviting all of those who would like to submit an entry, or entries, for any of the awards to send their pitches to us on or before Friday, September 21.

Entries should be addressed to: Richard Jory, Editor, Structured Products, Incisive Media, Haymarket House, 28-29 Haymarket, London SW1Y 4RX. We request that you send two copies of your submission by post: electronic versions are invariably large and there is a strong chance that they will be bounced back to you during this period.

We intend to conduct all interviews - whether in person or by telephone - between Monday September 24 and Friday October 12.
