Paul Calello, Credit Suisse's new head of investment banking, has an impressive derivatives pedigree, having started out at Bankers Trust before helping to establish Credit Suisse Financial Products. He talks to Nick Sawyer about his career

Name any one of the major financial centres, choose any type of derivative, and the chances are Paul Calello has had a stab at it. New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo; interest rate swaps, equity derivatives, commodities and convertibles - he's been there, seen it and, most likely, traded it. In his latest role as chief executive of Credit Suisse's global investment bank, one of his responsibilities will be to help implement the group's 'one bank' strategy - a combination of the investment
