Matthew Waldis is executive director of risk management for the Clearing House at CME Group, based in New York. He is the global head of market risk and methodologies, responsible for all futures and options margining methodologies, and has been with CME for 8 years. Prior to joining CME, Matthew held a variety of risk management and trading positions at Hess Energy Trading Company, ConocoPhillips, and Williams. In his early career, he optimized large scale chemical processes, such as aluminum alkylation and bromination, at Albemarle Corporation driving innovation in industries such as flame retardants, laundry detergents, catalysts, and pesticides. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
