As inflation rises to the top of pension scheme's concerns, it is no surprise to see Deutsche Bank and RBS take the top two places in Life & Pensions second set of rankings of consultancies and banks by pension practitioners

The second year of Life & Pensions rankings is proof of the adage that winning is a habit, with both Watson Wyatt and Deutsche Bank retaining their places as the consultancy and investment bank most valued by Life & Pensions' practitioner readership.

But rather than simply being a carbon copy of the 2007 rankings, the emergence of Goldman Sachs and the Royal Bank of Scotland to the top of the banking poll, and the appearance of London-based Redington Partners on the consultancy poll, highlights
