Funds investing in emerging markets over the past year have enjoyed steady, positive returns. As a result money has flowed into the sector and managers are confident that success will continue for some years yet.

“Investing in the [emerging] fixed-income market is like farming at the base of a volcano. The soil’s very fertile and there are rich pickings to be gained, but you have got to be looking over your shoulder,” says Mark Capstick, fixed-income fund manager at emerging markets specialists
