Hedge fund investors eye opportunities offered by frontier countries

Frontier markets are set to become the latest fad for hedge funds. Hedge funds focusing, for example, on Africa and the Middle East have more than doubled in asset size over the past three years. Africa and the Middle East are still less than 15% of total emerging market universe, with significant room for future growth. Research suggests there is tremendous scope for structural arbitrage opporutnities.
