Yodel for joy! The Swiss give go-ahead for single hedge funds

Sol Teague chewed the with Swiss experts, to find out what's new with hedge funds in Switzerland?

For the first time in recorded history, it is now theoretically possible to establish a Swiss single manager hedge fund, according to Shelby du Pasquier at Lenz & Staehelin in Geneva, since both foreign and domestic prime brokers have been recognised.

The rules pertaining to risk spreading and other investment restrictions have also been relaxed. "It depends how the Swiss Federal Banking Commission (SFBC) applies the rules but I expect to see the creation of a number of single manager hedge funds
