Despite the millennium hype that supported predictions that investors would be more bullish than ever in 2000, the year will be remembered as the one when markets fell and fell and fell. Nasdaq's outstanding gains in 1999 and early in 2000 were wiped out that market lost more than $3 trillion after its zenith in March. The UK's Techmark 100 underwent a similar rollercoaster ride. It rose by 52% between 1 January and 6 March and then tumbled 54% by 19 December.
