Administrators - the axis in Bermuda's portfolio-pricing triangle

While some of Bermuda's administrators see the main competition being from within the island, rather than other financial centres, they are still equipped to global standards, says Solomon Teague

The nature of hedge fund administration has changed over the years as technological developments have made it less important where the administrative work for hedge funds is actually done. For locations with a history of expertise and experience in administration, such as Bermuda, this creates particular challenges.

The repeal of the '10 Commandments' law (in 1998/99) also had a major impact on Bermuda. Previously, certain SEC and tax guidelines ensured no administration business of hedge funds
