FSA queries industry on short-selling

The Financial Services Authority sees no case to place any restrictions on short-selling, but is considering ways in which to make the market more transparent.

The regulator has put forward options for improving transparency in short-selling in the UK market, publishing a discussion paper seeking views on ways to increase disclosure of short-selling and exploring whether improvements to the settlement regime are necessary.
