Retail funds get go-ahead from Central Bank

Ireland's Central Bank has authorised fund of hedge fund operators to launch retail funds with minimum investments from E12,500.

Ireland follows a growing line of country regulators, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Italy, allowing retail investors and funds of hedge funds to come together.

The retail hedge fund products may not invest in other fund of funds and must provide extensive risk warnings in their prospectus to be authorised.
