2011 was another difficult year for the fund administration sector from both a regulatory and market perspective. The hedge fund industry had a torrid time as it struggled to navigate the eurozone crisis and greatly fluctuating commodity prices. Meanwhile, the private equity market was static and there was little momentum in the real estate sector. That meant overall new fund launches were few or far between.
