FSA wants principles-based insurance regulation

The Financial Services Authority (FSA), which regulates the UK’s financial industry, has published a consultation paper that details radical reforms for the insurance industry.

The consultation paper proposes principles-based and high-level regulation for the general insurance industry.

The FSA would like to introduce the rules set out in the consultation paper in January 2008.
