The sale of a cheap data storage device on the internet is unremarkable. But last week it was revealed that one such device sold on auction site eBay contained the personal and account information of over one million RBS, American Express and NatWest customers. Unfortunately, this too is less remarkable than it ought to be. It marks only the latest in a near-continuous flow of data breaches at financial firms.
